II. Our Coastline

A sense of place, where you come from and your origins are rudimentary concepts to the Hawaiian people. This section will highlight and demonstrate projects that were done on a coastline close to the curriculum author's place of residence by 10th and 11th grade students. Although this section does focus upon a specific coastline, this project can be adapted for any coastline in these islands.

Projects

1. Pictorial index of our coastline marine life
2. Testing for pollutants along the coastline, indication of human traffic
3. Historical data from resident fishermen and surfers
